Amit is ﬁve years older than Vaibhav at present. After four years the ratio of their age will be 5:4. What is Amit age (in year) at present?

Solution

Let Amit's age 4 years hence = $$5x$$ years and Vaibhav's age = $$4x$$ years

Difference between them will remain the same, => $$5x-4x=5$$

=> $$x=5$$

$$\therefore$$ Amit's present age = $$5(5)-4=25-4=21$$ years

=> Ans - (D)
