A car starting from rest, accelerates in a straight road at a constant rate of 3.0 $$ms^{-2}$$ for 8 s. Find the distance travelled by the car during this time.

Solution

We know that acceleration is speed per unit time

therefore speed is 24 m/s

we also know that speed is distance upon time

so distance is $$speed\times{time} = 24\times{8}$$

hence distance is 192
