MICA Selection Criteria 2027
MICA uses a unique and extensive selection process to find applicants with creativity, analytical ability, communication skills, and leadership potential. Admission to MICA's PGDM and PGDM-C programmes is based on a combination of CAT/XAT/GMAT scores, MICAT performance, Group Exercise (GE), Personal Interview (PI), academics, and extracurricular activities, rather than only based on entrance exam scores. MICA's selection process is a multi-stage process. Here's how it works:
MICA Selection Criteria 2027 | ||
Stage | Selection Component | Details |
Stage 1 | Online Application | Applicants must submit their online application form and register for MICAT along with any of the entrance exam like CAT, XAT, or GMAT, for consideration. |
Stage 2 | CAT/XAT/GMAT Score | Applicants must have passed the cutoff of any of these entrance exam like CAT, XAT, or GMAT score. MICA considers the best score among the three exams for selection purposes. |
Stage 3 | MICAT Examination | Candidates are required to seat for MICAT, MICA's entrance test, which consists of Psychometric Test, Descriptive Test, and Aptitude Test sections. |
Stage 4 | Psychometric Test Qualification | The Psychometric section is a qualifier section. |
Stage 5 | MICAT Sectional Evaluation | Candidates clearing the Psychometric Test are evaluated on MICAT Aptitude and Descriptive sections along with CAT/XAT/GMAT performance. |
Stage 6 | GE & PI Shortlisting | Based on overall performance in entrance exams and MICAT, selected students are then invited for the Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds. |
Stage 7 | Group Exercise (GE) | The GE round checks students' creativity, teamwork, communication skills, and problem-solving ability. |
Stage 8 | Personal Interview (PI) | The interview round checks students' personality, career aspirations, topic knowledge, leadership qualities, and suitability for MICA's culture and programmes. |
Stage 9 | Final Merit List | The final merit list is made using an overall performance that will be based on CAT/XAT/GMAT, MICAT, GE, PI, academics, and diversity factors. |
The final composite score is calculated as follows:
Component | Weightage |
CAT / XAT / GMAT | 35% |

MICAT | 25% |
Group Exercise (GE) | 10% |
