JEE Mains 2026 Result

The National Testing Agency will announce the JEE Mains 2026 Result in two sessions (Session 1 and Session 2) on its website jeemain.nta.nic.in. It is noteworthy that, in the case of Session 1 12 students gave a 100 percentile with most of the toppers registered in the state of Rajasthan.

In the final merit list, NTA puts into consideration the highest NTA percentile mark out of the two sessions. This implies that in case a candidate has attended both sessions 1 and 2, he/she is to be ranked by the higher percentile to get the All India Rank (AIR). After AIR, and a cutoff of JEE Advanced 2026 is admitted the final AIR will be issued upon the declaration of results of the first attempt of JEE Advanced.

What to Do After JEE Mains Results Are Announced?

Once the JEE Main 2026 Result is declared, candidates need to act quickly and strategically. Here is what you should do:

Download and Save Your Scorecard: Visit jeemain.nta.nic.in to download immediately your official scorecard. Keep several copies somewhere safe as it will be required in all further admissions procedures.

Check JEE Advanced 2026 Eligibility: In case your NTA percentile is within the recommended and actual qualifying cutoff, then it qualifies you to apply in JEE Advanced 2026 to enter the IITs. The best 2.5 lakh out of the JEE Main holders are allowed to sit in JEE advanced.

Register JoSAA Counselling 2026: JoSAA ( Joint Seat Allocation Authority ) deals with the admissions to IITs, NITs, IIITs and other GFTIs. According to the JEE Main 2026 statistics of the last year, JoSAA was involved in the seat allocation of more than 62,853 seats in 126 institutes comprising 32 NITs, 26 IIITs, and 45 GFTIs. JoSAA 2026 will be registered in June 2026.

Select one of the College Predictor Tools: You can use a college predictor based on your All India Rank and percentile to select some of the engineering colleges and branches in which you have a higher chance of getting admission in JoSAA counselling.

Research State Counselling Opportunities: Most states have independent engineering counselling procedures that are once again determined using the JEE Main scores. Check state portals on the requirement of eligibility, domicile and deadlines of application.

Keep Documents on hand: Get ready documents like Class 10 mark sheets, Class 12 mark sheets (where applicable), category certificate (where applicable), photo ID, passport-size photographs, and the JEE Main scorecard to facilitate easy processing during counselling.

Common Mistakes to Avoid While Checking JEE Mains Results

Many candidates make avoidable errors while accessing or interpreting their JEE Mains results. Being aware of these pitfalls can save you from unnecessary stress:Wrong Login Credentials: Please ensure to check your application number and password or date of birth before submitting. One digit mistake seems to result in unsuccessful entry of logins.

Misinterpreting (mixing up) NTA Score with Percentage: Your NTA score is a percentage that shows how you performed as compared to all the other applicants in the session. Of your percentage of marks. The result of 95 shows that you have scored better than 95 percent of those who turned out.

Lack of downloading the Scorecard by July 31, 2026: The scorecard is going to be kept in the NTA portal until July 31, 2026. Candidates who do not download it immediately stand a chance of being denied access. Saved scorecard will always be saved in PDF.

Disregard of Category Rank: This is since most of the candidates are busy going through the All India Rank and ignoring their category wise rank which is also likely to be very important as regards to seat allocation when it comes to reserved category during JoSAA counselling.

Error in the Scorecard: Please report to NTA immediately, and through the official medium, in case of discrepancy of your name, birth date and scores. Such issues need to be raised not at the point of the counselling.

Comparison of Raw Scores across Shifts: JEE Main has several shifts, with varying set of questions, comparing the raw marks with that of friends in different shifts is therefore not indicative. The suitable score to make comparison is the NTA percentile score, which does consider normalisation.

Delay in JoSAA Registration: JoSAA counselling is very rapid after the results are announced. There can be a forfeiture of a seat-allocation at late registration.
