IIT Madras MBA Form Last Date 2026: IIT Madras has opened its doors for MBA admissions 2026, and if you're serious about a management career with a tech edge, it should be your shot.

The Department of Management Studies (DoMS) is accepting applications for its flagship two-year MBA program. There is also some good news for candidates if they thought they missed the boat.

IIT Madras MBA Form Last Date 2026

The initial deadline for IIT Madras MBA 2026 applications was January 31, 2026, and the submissions were accepted until 11:59 PM on that date.

The institute kept that deadline after considering the CAT 2025 results, which were declared in December 2025.

IIT Madras MBA Form Extended Date

IIT Madras have officially extended the MBA application deadline to February 8, 2026, till 11:59 PM. That announcement about the extension was made through official communications from the Department of Management Studies, which has provided candidates with additional time to prepare and submit their applications.

Prospective students can now complete their applications at https://doms.iitm.ac.in/domsmba/ until the new deadline.

Courses Offered Through IIT Madras MBA Admissions 2026

IIT Madras Department of Management Studies offers a comprehensive range of management programmes that combine technical rigour with business acumen.

The flagship programme offers a two-year full-time MBA program, which is designed for the 2026-2028 batch.

Two-Year Full-Time MBA Programme

The residential MBA programme follows a seven-quarter structure spread across two years. The curriculum is designed to build strong foundations in quantitative methods while developing managerial capabilities across core business functions.

Programme Structure:

  • In the first half of the program, you'll study the essential courses like business communication, economics, and organisational behaviour, along with some helpful quantitative tools.
  • As you move into the next two quarters, you’ll focus on key management areas such as finance, human resources, marketing, and operations.
  • By the fifth quarter, it's time to specialise with elective courses, and you'll have a mandatory summer internship lasting 8-10 weeks after the fourth quarter, plus a final project.
  • The program also look into areas like quantitative finance and marketing analytics, which will pave the way for careers in consulting and tech.

Executive MBA (EMBA): A two-year weekend programme for working professionals which focuses on leadership and strategic management. The candidates should note that classes will be conducted in Chennai and admission requires CAT/GMAT scores along with relevant work experience.

Technology MBA: An integrated programme combining management education with technology focus areas.

PGPEX-VLM: The Post Graduate Program for Executives in Visionary Leadership in Manufacturing is a one-year intensive programme that is designed for senior professionals in the manufacturing sector.

M.S. in Management Studies: Applicants should be aware that this is a two-year research-focused master’s programme designed for those who are aiming to pursue academic and research-driven careers

IIT Madras MBA Eligibility Criteria 2026

When it comes to applying for the program at IIT Madras, the eligibility requirements will depend on what category you're in. First thing to know is that there are different kinds of candidates who are applying for this program, and each has its own set of criteria.

1- For Regular Candidates, here are the key requirements:

Academic Qualifications: You'll need to have a bachelor's degree or similar qualification that has been recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to be considered. On top of that, you'll have to have achieved a first-class degree or got at least a 60% in your undergraduate studies from a recognized institution and If you're from a Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), or have a Disability (PwD), then the requirement is slightly different i.e. you will need to have a minimum of 55%.

The Entrance Test: You'll need a valid score from the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2025.

Special Exemption: If you are an IIT graduate with a CGPA of 8.0 or higher on a 10-point scale, then you won't need to bother with a CAT score.

Final Year Students: It's possible for students who are in their final year of a bachelor's degree to apply on a provisional basis, but they must have completed all degree requirements before the program starts and will need to submit the provisional certificate within two months of the start date.

2- For applicants who are being sponsored by their employers, there is an additional set of criteria that will apply:

Application Format: The application will need to be sent through the official channels of the sponsoring organisation.

Work Experience: You'll need to have had at least two years of work experience in the company that is sponsoring you.

The Entrance Test: A valid CAT 2025 score is still a must.

Academic Qualifications: Same as for regular candidates, a bachelor's degree with a first-class or 60% marks from a recognised institute is required.

3 - For defence personnel, the rules are a bit different:

Entrance Test Exemption: They dont need to take national-level entrance tests, so you won't need to get a CAT score.

Application Submission: They will need to submit their application through the proper government agencies.

Academic Qualifications: You will need a bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualification with at least 55% marks.

4- International candidates have their own set of requirements:

The Entrance Test: Instead of CAT, you will need a valid GMAT score.

Academic qualification: The academic qualification remains the same, a bachelor's degree with first-class or 60% marks from a recognised institution. Final-year students can also apply provisionally, just like regular candidates, under the same conditions.

How to fill out the IIT Madras MBA form online?

If you're looking to fill out that online application for IIT Madras, here's a straightforward guide to get you through the process without any hassle.

Step 1: Registration & Logging In
First off, head to the admission portal at doms.iitm.ac.in/admission/. You'll need a valid email address to register and a decent password - don't forget to save that - and a verification email will wing its way to you - so be sure to confirm that one before you proceed.

Step 2: Fill In The Blanks

Once you're logged in, it's time to fill in all the important details:

- Personal Information: This one's simple - just make sure you use the full name shown on your official documents, your date of birth, contact numbers and addresses.

- Academic Stuff: You'll need to fill in your details from Class 10, Class 12, and your bachelor's degree - that's the name of the board or uni you passed from, the year you passed, and your final marks or CGPA.

- Test Details: If you've taken the CAT or GMAT, then enter your registration number, roll number and the scores you got in those exams.

- Work Experience: If you have any professional experience,e then you'll need to list the org you worked for, your job title, how long you were there and what you did in that role.

Step 3: Uploading Your Docs

You'll need to scan and upload a load of documents in JPG format - all in the right size:\

  • A recent clear passport photo

  • A scanned signature on a white sheet of paper.

  • Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets showing every single subject and percentage.

  • Your bachelor's degree certificate, along with your semester marksheets - that's not a lot, but make sure they're clear and readable.

  • Also, a category certificate if you're claiming any reservation benefits.

  • Plus, if you're getting sponsored, then you'll need to scan and upload a letter from your employer.

Just make sure your scanned documents are nice and clear - if they're not, then your application might not get accepted.

Step 4: Check Twice

Before you finalise your application, double-check everything. Common mistakes people make include getting the CAT roll number wrong, having your name spelt incorrectly or getting the maths wrong on your CGPA and percentage calculations.

Step 5: Pay Up

Your application isn't complete until you've paid the application fee, and you should know the payment gateway accepts loads of payment methods like UPI, debit and credit cards and net banking. Just keep a note of the transaction receipt and the reference number in case you need it.
