IRMA Eligibility Criteria

To be qualified to join the IRMA PGDM-RM program, candidates have to meet particular academic criteria, entrance test criteria, and work experience criteria.

  1. Academic Qualification: A graduation degree in any field from a recognized Indian university or institute is required. The degree should be obtained with at least 50% marks for general candidates and with at least 45% marks for SC/ST/DAP candidates.
  2. Entrance Exams: The institute accepts scores from three major entrance tests, which include
  • CAT (Common Admission Test)
  • XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test)

Valid CAT or XAT score is a requirement at the time of taking admission. No minimum cutoff score is specified for CAT/XAT, but higher scores can increase chances of selection significantly.

  1. IRMASAT - Social Awareness Test: Except for this test, the institute also follows CAT/XAT scores and conducts a special test called IRMASAT (IRMA Social Awareness Test). IRMASAT tests the candidates about issues concerning the social and economic world, which is critical for a program focused on rural management.

IRMA Selection Criteria

The selection process at IRMA is multi-staged and takes into consideration various factors like entrance test scores, academic performance, and personal attributes.

  1. Entrance Exam Score: CAT/ XAT/CMAT scores alone are the criteria for shortlisting candidates for further rounds of selection
  2. IRMASAT: Shortlisted candidates in terms of scores obtained in CAT/XAT/CMAT are invited to appear for the IRMASAT. This test aims to understand candidates' understanding of issues related to rural development, agriculture, and social welfare. This is an important component of the IRMA ethos.
  3. Group Activities (GA) and Personal Interview (PI): Clearing the IRMASAT will subject the candidates to further evaluation through:
  • Group Activities (GA): This procedure tests the candidate's communication, team exposure, and leadership abilities.
  • Personal Interview (PI): The interview panel assesses the motivation of the candidate toward rural management, personality, and suitability for the program.
