The pattern for CAT 2024 is similar to that of CAT 2023. There will be 66 objective type questions - MCQ and TITA. The questions are to be attempted in 120 minutes. The question paper will be divided into three sections. Candidates will be given 40 minutes for each section. And yes, there is negative marking too.
The CAT 2024 will be conducted by IIM Calcutta on 24th of November, 2024. The admit cards for the same were released on 5th November.
Ideally, on an average 6 months to one year are sufficient for CAT exam preparation. You can start preparing from December. Use one month to get an overview of the exam. Then from January to March, you can solve LOD 1 questions and get all your concepts cleared. April to July will be the syllabus completion phase. And, August to September is the time to take mocks.
An aspirant candidate must have 3 years of Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university. IIM CAT eligibility criteria for general category candidates is 50% marks in graduation and 45% marks in graduation for the reserved category candidates.
CAT is conducted once a year for IIMs and top rated other MBA/PGDM colleges. CAT 2024 is scheduled for November 24, 2024. There is no particular limit to attempting CAT and hence that is quite a relief since the pressure comes from the exam itself to some extent on the aspirant.
