Answers & Solutions:

1) Answer (C)

After walking 18m towards north from point A, lets say he reached point C. => AC = 18

After taking two consecutive left turns of 5m each, he reached point B.

=> CBA are collinear in that order.

=> BC = 5m

Now, distance between A and B = 18-5 = 13m

2) Answer (A)

Point A is 30 m to the South of point B and Point C is 20 m to the East of point A. Point D is 15m to the south of point C.

Point D is exactly midway between points E and F and distance of the line is 40 m.

Point E is to west of point D, => F is to the east of D and distance between ED and DF is 20 m.

Point E is in south direction from point B. Distance BE = 30 + 15 = 45 m

=> Ans – (A)

3) Answer (B)

P is 4m west of O and Point O is the midpoint of Points P and R, => R is 4 m east of point O.

S is 11m east of N and N is 8m North of P.

Also, Q is 13m south of R.

If L is 8 m east of R and M is 7 m south of S, => vertical distance between M and Q = 13 – 7 = 6 m

Horizontal distance between M and Q = 8 m

=> Distance between M and Q = $\sqrt{(8)^2 + (6)^2} = \sqrt{64 + 36}$

= $\sqrt{100} = 10$ m

=> Ans – (B)

4) Answer (C)

Ritesh’s position from left end = 12th

Sudhir is fourth to the right of Ritesh, => Sudhir’s position from left end = 12 + 4 = 16th

Also, Sudhir’s position from right end = 22nd

=> Total number of children in the row = 16 + 22 – 1

= 37

5) Answer (D)

The bus travels 8 km towards west from A and reaches point C, then it takes right turn and travel 5 km to reach point B.

Finally, the bus travelled east for 21 km and reached point E.

The bus must travel towards south direction to reach point D, distance = DE = 5 km.

=> Ans – (D)

6) Answer (C)

Point A is 14m east of Point B and point C is 6m south of Point A.

P is 4 m west of C and C is the mid point of P and H.

=> H is 4 m east of point C.

Also, O is 6 m south of H.

B is in north-west direction with respect to point H.

=> Ans – (C)

7) Answer (B)

Point A is 14m east of Point B and point C is 6m south of Point A.

P is 4 m west of C and C is the mid point of P and H.

=> H is 4 m east of point C.

Also, O is 6 m south of H.

10 m north of point H and then left turn of 4 m is same as left of point H and then 10 m north from there.

Distance from C = 10 m

=> Ans – (B)

8) Answer (C)

L is 10 m south of W, => WZ = 6m and ZL = 4 m

Similarly, Since, KL = 6 m, => RY = 7 m

and WJ = ZQ = 2 m

Kabir walks 10 m south of J, => he is 2 m to the east of L.

Then he takes right turn and walks 3 m, => he is 1 m to the west of L.

Distance between Kabir and point K = 6 – 1 = 5 m

=> Ans – (C)

9) Answer (A)

Let Vikas started from point A and head north for 9 km to reach B, then he turned left and travelled west for 5 km before reaching C, again he turned left and travelled for 9 km and finally stopped at point D.

Thus, he is facing south direction when he stopped walking.

=> Ans – (A)

10) Answer (D)

Vansh starts walking from Point E and walks 25m towards the north and stops at point P.

He then takes right turn for 15 m to reach point N and finally left turn to reach point M after walking 20 m.

Point K is 30m to the west of Point M and Point K is 45m to the north of Point J and Point J is 10m to the east of Point L.

If Neha is standing at Point D which is 20m to the north of Point L, then she has to walk in the North-east direction to reach point M.

=> Ans – (D)
