Bro all the mocks here are far above CAT level so don't get demotivated if you are scoring low there main aim is to demotivate you try previous year CAT papers you'll feel the diffrence.

Hi Let speed of man be v Now in downstream effective speed = v+4.5 Now as per given condition : (45/v+4.5) =2 so v+4.5=22.5 so we get v=18 Now distance required to cover in upstream = 45 (1.5)=67.5 Now therefore time = (67.5/v-4.5) (In upstream effective speed is speed of man - speed of current ) solving we get 67/13.5 so time = 5 hours.

i got 36 percentile in recent mock so any chance of increasing my score ....putting daily 8-10 hrs in a day upto nov 27

Hi Mock scores reflect our preparation and are important and it is necessary for all to appear for mocks but they are just a part of preparation and a way to prepare for actual examination. Irrespective of whatever your scores are now , this one month will play a major role and will surely decide how you are going to perform in actual exam. Take your scores positively , extract as much as you can from every test you give from now , just strategize very well as CAT as an exam depends a lot on how you approach the paper and how do you perform under pressure . i am not the faculty person but want to say that believe in yourself and your dreams think fir what you are doing this bring back your confidence and try again.... dont quit or let any negativity steal your dream from you. dont worry about the percentile you are getting in mock just focus more and more.

How tto prepare for functions chapter thoroughly (for CAT)- is the theory part really needed? I am decent at it but want to consolidate it, how do I do it?

Hi Functions in CAT have had a significant weightage since last two years and we can expect at least 2 questions from functions this year as well . The theory part acts as a foundation and makes you aware of all the concepts which can be applied in solving problems . Try to cover the classroom and concept videos and that will be sufficient as mam has covered everything in detail in them and a good amount of questions have also been included in them for practice.

In the Mock test 1, 50th question I have a doubt, Why do we assume that the first 5 variables are greater than the last four. Why can't we assume that the last 5 variables are greater than the first 4 variables? Please explain me. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

Hi It is said the sum of any 5 is greater than the remaining four so in such case we will consider the limiting condition or the worst case scenario, here as the first 5 will be the least possible sum of any 5 contracts given to a country and if these 5 are greater than the maximum possible sum of 4, then all the combinations of 5 will be greater than the remaining 4 . Basically we have to take a case where (least possible sum of 5) > greater than maximum possible sum of 4 as by this it will be ensured that all other possible cases are satisfied.
