my recent mocks percentile 15%,25%,39%,31% what i have to do to improve in mocks score

Q. Find the no. of non negative integral solutions of the eqn- a+b+c =13, where a,b and c are distinct? Ans is 84. Why can't we use the formula 13+3-1 C 3-1 ?

I have observed that there is a virtual calculator available in a CAT Mock. Is this calculator available for all the questions or limited to some questions? I feel, I am able to save a lot of time with calculator. However I am trying to refrain from doing so as some articles suggested. Kindly clarify.
