in sectional 15 of quant, the overall percentile is different than sectional percentile, also topper's quant score is different than overall score. was that part of a bigger test that i missed?

I am moving back and forth while answering RC questions which consuming more time re- reading the para again, how to tackle this ? thanks in advance

Hi Varshith, When reading the RCs, retention of information plays a key role. Retention comes with practice. While solving RCs, try to retain the main point of every para (through the keywords) and ignore the unimportant details (remember that those details are there in a particular para so that you can come back if needed). Try this every and slowly. You will avoid going back & forth through the passage. Hope this helps!

In my experience revisiting the para's is definitely time consuming but it ensure better accuracy. It happens a lot that in your first read that you comprehend wrong therefore I am not going to recommend not re- reading. Gradually with practice you will get more efficient.<br>

Hi Nitin, look at the Accuracy in VARC during your mock analysis. See if you're able to eliminate the wrong options, at least 2 wrong options quickly. Focus more on solving RCs and Reading for at least 20 mins every day. Also, during mock analysis check every option (both right and wrong), and note down the key learnings/ways to eliminate the options in a sheet, and revise that regularly. Hope this helps!

How many times does the number 9 appear in total in all the even numbers from 2 to 9999? (This was the question that I came across in one of the Cracku questions set, but not able to find it in the book marks now,) Could you please help here with the solution?

Hi Aravind, If we consider all even numbers from 0 to 9999, we get (9999 + 1)/2 = 5000 such numbers. In these 5000 numbers, the unit's digit is always 0, 2, 4, 6 or 8. Hence, if we consider the number to be ABCD D can not be 9. A, B, and C can take any values from 0 to 9. So, the total number of digits comprising A, B and C in all 5000 appearances = 5000 x 3(for A, B and C) = 15000 Now, among these 15000 digits, digits 0 to 9 appear an equal number of times. Hence, 9 will appear 1/10 th of the times. Hence, total number of appearances of 9 = 15000/10 = 1500. Hope this helps!

Hi Nitish Kumar Behera, You don't need to attempt all the questions in any section. Attempting 60% questions with 90% accuracy will fetch you more than 99 percentile in DILR. Firstly, make sure you are thorough with all the concepts. Secondly, practice various types of sets; if DILR is your weak section, try to solve at least four DILR sets daily. While attempting a mock or sectional, before you start solving any set, first go through all the sets, set a priority order and solve accordingly.
