How to prepare for RC?

A sheet of paper is 1m 8dm in length and 1m in breadth. If a boy want to make a strip of the paper 9 cm in breadth without leaving any part of the paper unused. Should he cut it lengthwise or breadth wise? What is the total length of the strips.
