When can we expect IIMs to release the shortlisting?

i have got overall 79 prcentile in cat, varc 84.5, lrdi 69.15, qa 76.66. my category is obc which colleges should i apply.. any chances of new baby iims?

Hi aditya, Unfortunately, new IIMs is out Small chance in case of IIT Kanpur and Roorkee You will have to mostly look at private colleges in this range We made a detailed video for this Colleges to apply for 70-80 and 80-90 percentile Make an independent study on each of the colleges. These colleges typically have low ROI and usually inflate their figures So be thorough and very cautious when you apply All the very best:)

got overall 97.94%ile in cat but only 88%ile in dilr .will sectional cutoffs pose a problem for me??

Hi jeet, IIMs usually have either 75 or 80 percentiles as sectionals. Only IIM L has 85percentile sectional and IIMA has 70percentile sectional cut-off So you are at-par for all the colleges Good luck!

Nope. No issues. Sectional cutoffs are generally lower than 85 and if they are ever higher, it's only in QA/VA, never in LRDI.

Is it better to leave questions unanswered in XAT over 8 questions if you don't know them or attempt it? As when i am attempting them in mocks my percentile is decreasing overall but when i have skipped them its touching 90's

Hi shreya, I hope your XAT went well. Answering for the reference of aspirants of upcoming year. If you ask me, I believe in probability. If there are 18 answered questions. If you leave them that way, your expected score is -1. If you randomly mark 10 questions, your expected score is 0. Hence, more often than not, the probability is likely to work in your favour. Yet, end of day, it is a gamble, there is some likelihood of this backfiring too. Hence, it is one's personal decision whether to attend the questions are not. XAT usually has 3rd, 4th and 5th options recurring. If it were upto me, I would pick the 10 additional questions and mark 4 for all of them. In any case, this is not an ideal advice for long term and it is risky for serious aspirants. Hence be cautious and diligent.

Hi subhadeep, Three good colleges namely IMI, IMT and XIMB usually have a cut-off of around 90percentile. Since, they consider work-ex and acads, you might have a shot at them. In the 85-90percentile colleges bracket, consider the colleges MICA, TAPMI, GLIM, GIM & FORE in that order Considering your work-ex, it is recommended that you target IMI, IMT or XIMB. Please make a thorough research about your chances of interview calls and only then apply to theses colleges. They also offer specialised MBA courses. IMI is popular for Finance while IMT is popular for Marketing. You should certainly be able to convert these calls. Wish you best of luck:)
