How long will Ramesh take to run round a square park of edge 50 metres, if he runs at the rate of 18 km/hr?

We know that,

Perimeter of a square = 4 × S

Where,

S = Side of the square

Perimeter of the square park = 4 × 50 = 200 m

∵ Ramesh runs round the square park, he should cover the perimeter of the square park to complete one round.

Speed of Ramesh = 18 km/hr = 18 × 5/18 = 5 m/sec (∵ 1 km/hr = 5/18 m/sec)

Time taken by Ramesh to run round the square park = 200/5 = 40 sec (∵ Speed = Distance/Time)

∴ Time taken by Ramesh to run round the square park = 40 sec
