Question 97

A sum of Rs. 817/- is divided among A, B and C such that ‘A’ receives 25% more than ‘B’ and ‘B’ receives Rs.76/- less than ‘C’ What is the ‘A’ share in the amount ?

Let a,b,c be the sum of shares received byA,B,C respectively

Let a=1.25b(since a is 25% more than b)

,c=b+76,

Then a+b+c= 817,

We have 1.25b+b+b+76 =817,

Then solve for b we get 228, We can have the value of a as 285.
