The length of a rectangular plot is 20 m more than its breadth. If the cost of fencing the plot at Rs.26.50 per metre is Rs.5300, what is the length of the plot in metres ?
Solution
Let say , Breadth is b.
So, Length = (b+20).
So, Perimeter of rectangular plot is =$$2\left(b+20+b\right)=\left(4b+40\right)\ m.$$
So, $$\left(4b+40\ \right)\times26.50=5300$$
or, $$4b+40\ =\frac{5300}{26.5}=200.$$
or,$$b+10\ =50.$$
or, $$b=40.$$
So, Length is 60 m.
C is correct choice.
