Question 91

What are the co-ordinates of the centroid of a triangle, whose vertices are A(1, -5), B(4, 0) and C(-2, 2)?

Solution

centroid = $$(\frac{x_{1}+x_{2}+x_{3}}{3} , \frac{y_{1}+y_{2}+y_{3}}{3})$$ = $$(\frac{1+4-2}{3} , \frac{-5+0+2}{3})$$ = $$(1 , -1)$$

so the answer is option A.
