ABCD is a parallelogram in which AB = 7 cm, BC = 9 cm and AC = 8 cm. What is the length (in cm) of other diagonal?
Solution
In a parallelogram, $$2(AB^2 + AB^2) = AC^2 + BD^2$$
Hence, $$BD^2 = 2(7^2 + 9^2) - 8^2 = 196$$ or BD = 14
