Question 89

A shopkeeper bought three varieties A, B and C of rice in different amounts at the rates of Rs. 34.50, Rs. 28.60 and Rs. 32.40 per kg respectively. In which of the following transactions he will gain maximum ?

Solution

Given that , cost of A is 34.5 , B is 28.6 , C is 32.4 .According to the options , he bought two varieties .
so, Total gain = gain due to first item + gain due to second item
Going by options , option (A) 20(38-34.5) + 20(36-32.4) = 142
option (B) 30(37-34.5) + 40(33-28.6) = 251
option (C) 20(40-28.6) + 40(38-32.4) = 452

So , option (C) gives more gain.
