What is the equation of the line which passes through the points (3,2) and (5,-3)?

Solution

Equation of line passing thorough points $$(x_1 , y_1)$$ and $$(x_2 , y_2)$$ = $$(y - y_1) = \frac{(y_2 - y_1)}{(x_2 - x_1)} (x - x_1)$$

Points given = (3,2) and (5,-3)

=> Equation of line = $$(y - 2) = \frac{(-3 - 2)}{(5 - 3)} (x - 3)$$

=> $$(y - 2) = \frac{-5}{2} (x - 3)$$

=> $$2y - 4 = -5x + 15$$

=> $$5x + 2y = 19$$
