Question 86

If 17/3 + [3(2x - 5/3)]/2 = 1/6, then what is the value of x?

Solution

Expression : $$\frac{17}{3}+[\frac{3}{2}(2x-\frac{5}{3})]=\frac{1}{6}$$

= $$\frac{17}{3}+[\frac{3}{2}(\frac{6x-5}{3})]=\frac{1}{6}$$

= $$\frac{34}{6}+(\frac{18x-15}{6})=\frac{1}{6}$$

= $$34+18x-15=1$$

= $$18x=1+15-34=-18$$

= $$x=\frac{-18}{18}=-1$$

=> Ans - (D)
