Question 85

The number of candidates qualified in 1999 was what percentage of the number of candidates appeared in 1998?

Solution

Number of candidates qualified in 1999 = candidates appeared * percentage qualified.

= 22,500 * 30% = 6750

Number of candidates appearing in 1998 = 10,000

The required percentage = $$ \frac{6750}{10,000}$$ = 67.5%
