What is the area of the sector whose central angle is 90° and radius of the circle is 14 cm?

Solution

Central angle = $$\theta = 90$$° and radius = $$r = 14$$ cm

Area of sector = $$\frac{\theta}{360} \times \pi r^2$$

= $$\frac{90}{360} \times \frac{22}{7} \times (14)^2$$

= $$\frac{1}{4} \times 44 \times 14$$

= $$11 \times 14 = 154$$ $$cm^2$$
