10 women can complete a work in 7 days and 10 children take 14 days to complete the work. How many days will 5 women and 10 children take to complete the work ?

Solution

Let the speed of Women be x and that of children be y. Let piece of work be W.
10x=W/7, x=W/70
10y =W/14 y= W/140
Now, 5x + 10y = W/14 + W/14 = W/7
Number of day srequired to complete the work = W/(W/7) = 7 days.
Therefore, the correct option is option C.
