In a college the boys and girls are in the ratio 8 : 5. If the number of girls be 160, then how many students are therein the college ?

Solution

The ratio of boys: girls = 8:5

Number of girls = 160

So, number of boys = 8 * 160/5 = 256

Total = 256 + 160 = 416
