Ages of Sundar and Seema are in the ratio 5 : 4. Three years hence, the ratio of their ages will become 11 : 9. What is Seema's present age?

Solution

Let say, age of Sundar and Seema are 5x and 4x respectively.

According to question,

$$\frac{5x+3}{4x+3}=\frac{11}{9}.$$

or,$$45x+27=44x+33.$$

or,$$x=6.$$ So, Seema's present age is 24.
