Question 77

The length of a rectangular plot is thrice its breadth. If the area of the rectangular plot is 867 $$m^2$$,then what is the length of the rectangular plot ?

Solution

Let the breadth of the rectangle be x

So, lenght of the rectangle be 3x

Area of rectangle = $$Length\times Breadth$$

According to the question,

$$3x\times x$$=867 $$m^2$$

$$x^2$$=$$289$$

$$x$$=$$17$$

Required length = 51 m
