What is the mean saving per person?

Solution

Required mean = $$\dfrac{5\times1+15\times3+20\times4+25\times2+30\times1+35\times1+40\times2}{1+3+4+2+1+1+2}$$

$$= \dfrac{5+15+80+50+30+35+80}{14} = \dfrac{295}{14} = Rs.23.21$$
