Question 73

The volume of a right circular cone is 1232 cm$$^3$$ and its height is 24 cm. What is its curved surface area?
(Take $$\pi = \frac{22}{7}$$)

volume of cone = $$\frac{1}{3}\times \pi\times r^2\times h$$

1232 = $$\frac{1}{3}\times \pi \times r^2\times 24$$

r= 7 cm

Curved surface area of  cone =$$\pi \times r \times l $$

L = $$\sqrt{r^2 +h^2}$$

 = 25 cm

Curved surface area of  cone =$$\pi \times 7\times 25$$

      = 550 $$cm^2$$
