Sunetra invested an amount of Rs. 50,000 to start a software business. After six months Nikhil joined her with an amount of Rs. 80,000. At the end of 3 years they earned a profit of Rs. 24,500/-. What is Sunetra’s share in the profit ?
The profit shares of the two are proportional to the weighted average of investment and time.
Sunetra invested 50000 for 3 years and Nikhil invested 80000 for 2.5 years.
Hence, the relative ratio is 50000*36 : 80000*30 = 180:240 = 3:4
Total profit is 24500.
Hence, Sunetra's share in it is 3/7*24500 = 10500
