Solution
Let the present age of Saibal is S years and that of Bipul is B years.
Given, B = S - 16 years
Age of Saibal after 12 years will be S+12 years and that of Bipul will be B+12 years
Substituting B = S-16 in S+12 => Age of Bipul after 12 years = S-16+12 = S-4 years
Given, (S-4)1.5 = S+12
=> 1.5S - 6 = S+12
=> 0.5S = 18
=> S = 36
Therefore, The present age of Saibal is 36 years.
