Using : $$M_1 D_1 = M_2 D_2$$

$$x$$ men can do a piece of work in 30 days

=> $$M_1 = x , D_1 = 30$$

Also, $$M_2 = (x + 6) , D_2 = 30 - 10 = 20$$

$$\therefore x \times 30 = (x + 6) \times 20$$

=> $$30x = 20x + 120$$

=> $$30x - 20x = 10x = 120$$

=> $$x = \frac{120}{10} = 12$$
