A person buys 5 tables and 9 chairs for ₹15,400. Hesells the tables at 10% profit and chairs at 20% profit. If his total profit on selling all the tables and chairs is ₹2,080, what is the cost price of 3 chairs?
Let the price of 9 chairs be x.
Price of 5 tables = 15400 - x
He sells the tables at 10% profit and chairs at 20% profit.
Total profit = 2080
(15400 - x) $$\frac{10}{100} + x \frac{20}{100}$$ = 2080
(15400 - x) + x \times 2$$ = 20800
15400 - x + 2x = 20800
x = 5400
Price of 9 chairs = 5400
Price of 3 chairs = 5400/3 = Rs.1800
