The number of seconds taken by a 500 m long train with speed 63 km per hour to cross a man walking at 3 km per hour in the same direction is

Solution

Train and man are walking in same direction, => Relative speed = $$63-3=60$$ km/hr

= $$60\times(\frac{5}{18})=\frac{50}{3}$$ m/s

Length of train = 500m

=> Time taken = distance/speed

= $$500\div\frac{50}{3}$$

= $$500\times\frac{3}{50}$$

= $$10\times3=30$$ seconds

=> Ans - (C)
