A man takes twice as long to go upstream as to row downstream. What is the ratio of speed of boat in still water and the speed of stream?
Solution
Let speed of man upstream= x kmph & his speed downstream = 2x kmph
Hence the ratio will be , $$\frac{2x+x}{2} : \frac{2x-x}{2}$$
$$\frac{3x}{2} : \frac{x}{2}$$
