Simplify: $$1 + \frac{1}{3} + \frac{1}{6} + \frac{1}{8} + \frac{1}{12} + \frac{1}{24}$$

Solution

$$1 + \frac{1}{3} + \frac{1}{6} + \frac{1}{8} + \frac{1}{12} + \frac{1}{24}$$

take the lcm of 3,6,8,12,24 by taking factorization

3=3

6=2\times 3

12=2\times 2\times 3

8=2\times 2\times 2

24=2\times 2\times 2\times 3

by taking common 

lcm=2\times 2\times 2\times 3 =24

$$\frac{24+8+4+3+2+1}{24}$$=1.7
