Question 67

If a > b > 0, AB = a - b cm, BC = $$2\sqrt{ab}$$ cm AC=a+b, then ∠ABC is

Solution

Now
AB ^2 = a^2-2ab+b^2   (1)
BC^2 =4ab                     (2)
Adding 1 and 2
we get a^2+b^2+2ab
Now this equals (a+b)^2= AC ^2
so we can say AB^2+BC^2=AC^2
So triangle ABC is a right triangle
