Solution

let the length of rectangle be 100

let the breadth of rectangle be 100

both sides are increased by 22%

Now l = 122 , b = 122

Now ,$$area\ of\ rec\tan gle=l\times\ b$$

=>14884

Area before increase = $$100\times\ 100=10000$$

percentage increased is

$$\frac{\left(14884-10000\right)}{100}=\frac{4884}{100}$$

= 48.84%

Hence option A is correct.
