Question 63

What comes in the place of *?

$$1\frac{1}{4}+1\frac{1}{6}-1\frac{1}{8}$$=*+$$1\frac{1}{12}$$

Solution

$$ 1\frac{1}{4} + 1\frac{1}{6} - 1\frac{1}{8} - 1\frac{1}{12} = * $$

solving $$ 1 + 1 - 1 - 1 + ( \frac{1}{4} + \frac{1}{6} - \frac{1}{8} - \frac{1}{12}) $$

             $$ \frac{ 6 + 4 - 3 - 2}{24} = \frac{5}{24} $$
