Question 63

Two articles are sold for ₹5,104 each. On one, the seller gains 16% and onthe other, he loses 12%. Whatis his overall gain percent, nearest to two decimal places?

S.P of 1st article = 5104, P= 16%

C.P of 1st article = $$5104\times\ \frac{100}{116}=4400$$

S.P of 2nd article = 5104, L=12%

C.P of 2nd article =$$5104\times\ \frac{100}{88}=5800$$

Total C.P = 4400+5800= 10200

Total S.P = 5104+5104 = 10208

Overall profit = 10208 - 10200 = 8

Overall profit% = $$\frac{\left(8\times\ 100\right)}{10200}=0.078=0.08\%$$
