In $$\triangle$$ABC, AB = 7 cm, BC = 24 cm and AC = 25 cm.If is the centroid of the triangle, then what is the length (in cm) of BG ?
Solution
7,24,25 forms a right triangle
As we know, in a right triangle , AM = MC = BM , Where M is the Circumcentre.
BM = $$\frac{AC}{2}$$
= $$\frac{25}{2}=\ 12.5$$
G is the centroid , and it divide the BM in the ratio - 2 : 1
Now, BG = $$12.5\times\ \frac{2}{3}$$
= 8.3333 = $$8\ \frac{\ 1}{3}$$
Hence option B is correct.
