Question 63

If the volume of a cylinder is 3850 cubic cm and height is 25 cm, what is its radius? (Take π = 22/7)

Solution

Let radius of cylinder = $$r$$ cm and height = 25 cm

Volume of cylinder = 3850 $$cm^3$$

=> $$\pi r^2 h = 3850$$

=> $$\frac{22}{7} \times (r^2) \times 25 = 3850$$

=> $$r^2 = \frac{3850 \times 7}{22 \times 25} = \frac{77 \times 7}{11}$$

=> $$r = \sqrt{7 \times 7} = 7$$ cm
