Question 62

In the given figure, PQR is a triangle in which angle P : angle Q : angle R = 3 : 2: 1, and PR is perpendicular to RS. What will be the measure of angle TRS?

Solution

Given,

In $$\triangle\ $$PQR,

angle P : angle Q : angle R = 3 : 2 : 1

$$=$$>  angle R = $$\frac{1}{\left(3+2+1\right)}\times180^{\circ\ }=\frac{1}{6}\times180^{\circ\ }=30^{\circ\ }$$

$$=$$>  angle QRP = $$30^{\circ\ }$$

PR is perpendicular to RS

$$=$$>  angle PRS = $$90^{\circ\ }$$

$$\therefore\ $$angle QRP + angle PRS + angle TRS = $$180^{\circ\ }$$

$$=$$>  $$30^{\circ\ }$$ +  $$90^{\circ\ }$$ + angle TRS = $$180^{\circ\ }$$

$$=$$>  angle TRS = $$60^{\circ\ }$$

Hence, the correct answer is Option C
