ΔABC is similar to ΔPQR. Length of AB is 18 cm and length of the corresponding side PQ is 12 cm. If area of ΔABC is 324 sq cm, what is the area of ΔPQR?
It is given that ΔABC $$\sim$$ ΔPQR
Also, length of AB = 18 cm and length of the corresponding side PQ = 12 cm
Let area of ΔPQR = $$x$$ sq cm
=> Ratio of Area of ΔABC : Area of ΔPQR = Ratio of square of corresponding sides = $$(AB)^2$$ : $$(PQ)^2$$
=> $$\frac{324}{x} = \frac{(18)^2}{(12)^2}$$
=> $$x = (12)^2 = 144$$ sq cm
=> Ans - (B)
