The average (arithmetic mean) of x and y is 40. If z = 10, then what is the average of x, y and z ?
Solution
Arithmetic mean of $$x$$ and $$y$$ = 40
=> $$x+y=80$$ ---------(i) and $$z=10$$
Average of $$x,y$$ and $$z$$ = $$\frac{(x+y+z)}{3}$$
= $$\frac{80+10}{3}=30$$
=> Ans - (B)
