(B)It was an unfortunate way to end a dedicated career.
(C)He told his employer contractor of his plans to leave the house buildings business to live a more leisurely life with his wife and enjoy his extended family
(D)An elderly carpenter was ready to retire
(E)He resorted to shoddy workmanship and used inferior materials.
(F)The carpenter said yes but over time it was easy to see that his heart was not in his work
Sentence D is the first sentence as it introduces the carpenter and his willingness to retire that sets the tone for the paragraph. Sentence C should follow it as in C 'his plans' can only denote carpenter's plan to retire. A should follow C because it states that contractor asked him a favour to do one more assignment. Sentence F follows it as it tells carpenter agreed which is followed by E. Finally B is an apt end to the para and should come in the end. So, the sequence is DCAFEB.
Thus, the fourth sentence is F.
