Question 60

Two trains A and B,186 m and 200 m long are running at 64 km/h and 80 km/h, respectively on parallel tracks. If they are running in the opposite directions, then how much time(in seconds) will a person sitting in the first train A take to cross the other train?

Since, they are running in opposite directions, relative speed = $$(64+80)=144$$ km/hr

= $$144\times\frac{5}{18}=40$$ m/s

Thus, time take by person in train A = $$\frac{200}{40}=5$$ seconds

=> Ans - (B)
