How long does a train 110 m long running at a speed of 72 km/h take to cross a bridge 132 metres in length?

Solution

Speed = 72 km/hour = $$72\times\frac{5}{18}$$ m/sec
= 20 m/sec

Total distance to be covered = 110+132 = 242 meters

$$Time = \frac{Distance}{Speed}$$

$$Time = \frac{242}{20}$$
= 12.1 seconds
