Question 59

The perimeter of a rectangle is twice the perimeter of a square of side 18 units. If the breadth of the rectangle is 45, what is its area?

Perimeter of square = 4a

given , a= 18 , perimeter => 4*18 = 72

perimeter of rectangle => 2( L+B)

given , B= 45 units and  perimeter of a rectangle is twice the perimeter of a square

therefore, 2(45+L)=2(72)

                  45+ L = 72

L= 27

Area of rectangle will be L*B = 27*45 = 1215 UNITS
