Question 59

The following pie-chart shows the percentage-wise distribution of the number of students in five different schools P, Q, R, S and T. Total number of students in all five schools together is 8400.

The number of students in school T is what percentage of the total number of students in schools Q and S together.

Solution

From the pie chart,

Number of students in School T = $$\frac{20}{100}\times8400=1680$$

Number of students in School Q = $$\frac{18}{100}\times8400=1512$$

Number of students in School S = $$\frac{22}{100}\times8400=1848$$

Required Percentage = $$\frac{1680}{\left(1512+1848\right)}\times100=\frac{1680}{3360}\times100=50\%$$

Hence, the correct answer is Option C
